The park trails are open year-round for biking, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. This community is managed by the Presque Isle Harbor Association, with numerous amenities. The amenities include the Clubhouse with gyms, game room, conference room, locker rooms, spa and an indoor pool. The amenities also include private campgrounds for residents!

The public recreation area, which spans 142 acres, has an array of activities and amenities for visitors. Windy Point Campground is located on Dillon Reservoir about 15 minutes from Frisco. Windy Point Campground has 1 group campsite able to accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. The campsite is equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, and vault toilets.

Hurricane River Campground is located 12 miles west of Grand Marais and is divided into two separate sections off H-58, Hurricane River Upper, and Hurricane River Lower. The Upper Campground has 10 sites and the Lower Campground has 12. Campground amenities include water, pit toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and handicap accessible sites.

In total, the park has 274 sites with three main areas–the Upper Loop, the West Loop, and the East Loop. Each loop has modern bathhouses, with vault toilets located throughout the park. There are also two mini cabins located in the East Loop featuring electricity and bunk beds.

The acreage is enrolled in the Commercial Forest program. Michigan does not have BLM land but plenty of forest service land. Most of these public lands are located in the northern half of the lower peninsula and through the upper peninsula.
